New Books Arrived at Bhaktistore

This charming series of lectures given by Śrīla Nārāyaṇa Gosvāmī Mahārāja in Malaysia 1998 was previously published by Śrīpad Hṛṣikeśa Mahārāja in a book entitled Dāmodara-līlā-madhurī. GVP is publishing it for the first time, having listened again to the sound files. It is an excellent introduction to the pastimes of Śrī Kṛṣṇa and the conclusive truth about Him.

The Origin of Ratha-yatra was a compilation of Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayaṇa Gosvami Maharaja’s wonderful English lectures about Lord Jagannatha and the deep meaning of the ancient Ratha-yatra festival. It was then translated into Hindi, which he edited to give the subject matter greater focus. Now this Hindi version has been rendered into English and is available this book, Sri Jagannatha Ratha-yatra

Śrīla Trivikrama Gosvāmī Mahārāja’s ardent desire was to remain unknown by the world at large and thus completely free to be absorbed in bhajana, or inner devotional sentiments and service. Although he was well known and highly respected in Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava circles, only a few are aware of the events of his life. A Life of Humble Service presents, for the first time, his story, before he came to the maṭha and after. The article by him at the end of the book, entitled “Kṛṣṇa is Only Hungry for Love,” is an indication of the vital message he carried. His sober spiritual guidance is invaluable to us all.

Within these pages, Śrīla Bhaktivedānta Nārāyaṇa Gosvāmī Mahārāja gives a brief but comprehensive description of his dear godbrother, Śrīla Bhaktivedānta Vāmana Gosvāmī Mahārāja – his life, his dedication to his gurudeva, his service to Mahāprabhu’s mission, his beautiful example of Vaiṣṇava behavior, and his inner absorption. It also contains some of Śrīla Vāmana Gosvāmī Mahārāja’s highly instructive writings. He was the ācārya of the Gauḓīya Vedānta Samiti and had thousands of disciples, and in line with being a true ācārya, he felt himself to be most insignificant and also brimming with a mood of service to all. This intriguing quality of his will surely attract sincere sādhakas to read this booklet.

As the title suggests, this is booklet about the places of Sri Navadvipa-dhama. It mainly consists of excerpts from Srila Narayana Maharaja’s Sri Navadvipa-dhama and Other Prominent Places of the Gaudiya Vaisnavas in Sri Gaura-mandala.

Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura gives a clear description of the path of spontaneous devotion.
